Flipped.Chat is a free-to-start AI character chat app published on Google Play by a Singapore company. Its paid tiers sell three things: a memory multiplier, a daily allowance of character pictures and videos, and voice minutes. Everything past those allowances is bought with gems. The app is rated 18+ by its own terms, its privacy policy says it does not sell your data, and its official iOS app was not on the App Store on 17 September 2026 while a look-alike with a copied description was. Every claim here was read from the developer's own pages or store listings on that date. My opinion, which you can argue with at the end: the "2x, 5x, 10x" memory row is a decoy, and video is the one thing Flipped does that the apps it competes with do not.
YourCrush.AI is on the web today with a memory spec you can read before paying, which is the bar Flipped.Chat, now missing its iOS app, is measured against.
What is Flipped.Chat, and who runs it?
Flipped.Chat is a web and Android app where a language model plays a character you or someone else created. It replies in text, voice, pictures, and short videos, and it holds a rolling conversation that its own FAQ admits it may forget over time. The Google Play listing, package name com.dating.ai, shows 1M+ downloads, 4.3 stars across 28.7K reviews, and a Mature 17+ rating for "Sexual Themes, Partial Nudity, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, Strong Language, Crude Humor." Last update: 8 September 2026. All figures read on 17 September 2026.
Who runs it depends on which page you read. The Play listing names the developer as Flipped Chat and gives the company as FIRSTGROUP PTE. LTD., at an address on Ubi Road 1, Singapore. The terms of use, last updated 15 August 2023, say the site "is owned and operated by SINGAPORE DESERT OASIS TECHNICAL PTE. LTD" at Shelford Road, Singapore. Two Singapore entities, one product, and nothing on the site explains the relationship. The privacy policy, last updated 13 July 2026, is written in the name of "Flipped Team."
The Play description lists four things the app does: chat with characters, generate images of them, hold real-time voice calls, and let you create your own. The FAQ adds a fifth, "Video Companion Mode: Watch your AI express emotions through motion."
Why YourCrush.AI is the better choice than Flipped.Chat
YourCrush.AI prints every memory limit as a number rather than a multiplier, and that is the single thing this page has been asking Flipped for. The plans below are as listed on the pricing page on 17 September 2026, followed by the comparison in prose.
| Plan | Price | Chat tokens / month | Pinned memories | Story branches | Image credits / month | Characters created |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 400K | 10 | 1 | 5 | 3 |
| Pro | $9.99/mo | 5M | 50 | 5 | 50 | 50 |
| Premium | $19.99/mo | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | 200 | Unlimited |
- YourCrush.AI pins memories as a counted list, 10 on Free, 50 on Pro and unlimited on Premium, so a fact the character must keep is one you chose rather than one a multiplier may or may not cover.
- YourCrush.AI branches a story into separate timelines, so a scene you want to try does not overwrite the main one; Flipped's equivalent is a rewind that deletes.
- YourCrush.AI generates images inside the chat on a monthly credit count, 5, 50 and 200, with no second currency to top up mid-month.
- YourCrush.AI builds a character from a name and an image with AI-drafted description, backstory, greeting and 3 to 7 traits from a list of 27 in the character creator, and lists community characters under Anime and Human categories on the explore page.
The named limitation: YourCrush.AI has no video generation. If a moving clip of your character is the thing you want, Flipped on Gold or Platinum has it and YourCrush.AI does not. What you get instead at the same $9.99 and $19.99 price points is a memory spec in numbers, voice messages on every plan including Free, and one meter instead of two.
What does the Flipped.Chat video feature actually do?
Flipped.Chat generates short animated clips of a character from inside the chat, and it meters those clips per day by subscription tier and then by gems. The pricing page lists free videos per day at 10 on Gold and 20 on Platinum, with no video allowance on Pro, plus a row of extra video effects that all three tiers include. Beyond the daily count, the FAQ says gems are spent to "create engaging AI-powered videos."
The entry point is the "Picture/Video" shortcut in the message box, per the FAQ, and the site has a public videos feed of clips other users made. The three at the top of the feed on 17 September 2026 showed 274.2K, 396.3K and 472.6K views. That feed is the part of Flipped a text-first app cannot copy without building a video pipeline.
One number is missing from every public page: the gem price of a single video. The store lists what gems cost and the FAQ lists what gems buy, but the per-video charge shows only inside a logged-in chat. Check it after signing up and before buying a gem pack.
How much does Flipped.Chat cost in subscriptions and gems?
Flipped.Chat runs three subscription tiers, Pro, Gold and Platinum, priced on 17 September 2026 at $9.99, $14.99 and $19.99 a month on the web. Gems are the second meter, starting at 100 for $0.99. When I read the pricing page, it was running a promotion, so the table below shows both the promoted and the struck-through list prices.

| Tier | 7 days | 1 month (promo) | 1 month (list) | 12 months (promo) | 12 months (list) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $4.99 | $9.99 | $19.96 | $39.99 | $259.40 |
| Gold | $7.99 | $14.99 | $31.96 | $69.99 | $415.40 |
| Platinum | $9.99 | $19.99 | $39.96 | $99.99 | $519.40 |
A table alone is easy to misread, so here it is in prose. The 12-month Platinum price of $99.99 equals five months of Platinum at the promoted monthly rate. If the promotion ends, every list price doubles the monthly figure. What the tiers add, from the same page: a "Long-term Memory" row of 2x on Pro, 5x on Gold and 10x on Platinum. Free character pictures per day run 100 on Gold and 200 on Platinum. AI photo generations per day are 3, 10 and 20. Voice call minutes per day are 10, 20 and 40, and voice message minutes per day are 5, 10 and 20. All three tiers include unlimited text messages, no chat filters, persona creation, no ads and VIP characters. Message export is Platinum only.
The store sells 100 gems for $0.99, 300 for $2.99, 500 for $4.99, 1,150 for $9.99, 2,300 for $19.99, 5,750 for $49.99 and 11,500 for $99.99. On 17 September 2026, every pack carried a "Buy One Get One" doubling. According to the FAQ, gems buy extra selfies after the daily free tries run out, AI photos while creating a character, videos, "detailed replies," longer voice messages, avatar frames and chat bubbles, gifts to creators, and skipping an "out of profile" countdown. Two of those, detailed replies and voice length, sit in the core chat, so a heavy user on Platinum still spends gems.
The terms say "all fees are non-refundable once login details have been used," and that not using a membership "is not grounds for a refund." Web subscriptions have no cancel button. The FAQ says to email the team with your UID. Store subscriptions cancel through Apple or Google and run to the end of the paid period.
Does Flipped.Chat remember past conversations?
Flipped.Chat describes its memory as a multiplier: 2x on Pro, 5x on Gold, 10x on Platinum. It never says what the base is. So the honest answer is that it remembers more on higher tiers by an amount nobody outside the company can name. The FAQ calls it "a fully scalable memory model," then in the very next sentence admits "AI's memory capacity is technically limited, which means it may 'forget' previous conversations over time."
That second sentence is where things get strange. The PolyBuzz FAQ, captured on 4 September 2026 and quoted in what is PolyBuzz, answers the same question with the identical line: "the AI's memory capacity is technically limited, which means it may 'forget' previous conversations over time." Its NSFW answer matches too, "strictly prohibit public display of NSFW content. All recommended content undergoes multi-layered AI screening and human moderation," word for word, except Flipped swaps in "human review." Two companies, two FAQs, one shared text, and neither has published a memory figure you could actually hold it to.
Character.AI's plus page, read the same day, does the opposite. It gives pinned memories as a count: 15 on Free, 30 on lite, 30 on c.ai+. A count can be tested. A multiplier of an unknown cannot. What Flipped gives you instead, per its FAQ, is a set of manual tools: edit or regenerate the last reply, press-and-hold to rewind a run of messages, a Restart button that wipes the conversation, and a Persona field where you write facts about yourself for your characters to read. That persona field is the closest thing to a pinned memory on the platform. To get the base number Flipped won't print, run the three-fact test from how to pick an AI companion app on Pro, then again on Platinum.
Is Flipped.Chat safe, and what do its own policies say?
If you're an adult who keeps identifying details out of the chat, Flipped.Chat's published policies are cleaner than most in this category. If you're under 18, the terms say the service is not for you. The terms state that "Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to use or register for the Services," and the Play rating is Mature 17+. The privacy policy says the company does not knowingly collect data from under-18s and will deactivate an account it learns belongs to one. Then, in the same paragraph, it has users confirm they are 18 or the parent or guardian of a minor using the service. That sentence should not exist under an 18+ rule. Age is self-declared, and no verification step appears on any page I read.
On data, the Google Play safety label, read on 17 September 2026, says "No data shared with third parties," that the app may collect Personal info and Messages, that data is encrypted in transit, and that you can request deletion. The privacy policy goes further than most: the company "does not load advertising pixels or use advertising tracking cookies," has not "disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months," and shares purchase data only with Apple and Google. It does collect GPS location by default, with an opt-out in device settings. What it does not say, anywhere, is which language model reads your messages or where inference runs.
On content, the FAQ says the platform "strictly prohibits public display of NSFW content," that recommended characters go through AI screening and human review, that fictional characters must be "assumed to be at least 18 years old," and that genital exposure is banned in public. The pricing grid then lists "No Chat Filters" as a benefit on every tier. So the moderation line runs between public and private, the same split PolyBuzz draws. The discovery feed on the day I read it was heavy with "Forbidden Love," "Naughty" and "Secret crush" tags.
The research context is the same for every app in this category. Common Sense Media, with Stanford School of Medicine's Brainstorm Lab, rated social AI companions "unacceptable" for minors on 30 April 2025 and called for age assurance "beyond self-attestation." On 11 September 2025 the FTC sent 6(b) orders to seven companion-chatbot companies asking how they "monetize user engagement" and "use or share personal information obtained through users' conversations." Neither Singapore entity behind Flipped is among the seven. Both documents describe the two questions above.
Why is Flipped not on the App Store?
The official Flipped iOS app, App Store id 6445969623, returned a 404 on 17 September 2026. Apple's lookup service returned no result for that id on eleven storefronts I tried, including the US, UK, Singapore and Japan. Flipped's own FAQ still says "Flipped is available on both the App Store and Google Play," but the App Store mention carries no link while the Google Play one does. Nothing on the site says the app was removed or why, and I am not going to guess.

What is on the App Store instead is the problem. A search for the app's name on 17 September 2026 returned "Flipped Chat: AI Characters", seller iDeal KLIMA s.r.o., developer name "Doris AI," released 14 July 2026, with 18 ratings averaging 1.6 stars and a seller website at doris-ai.top. Its description opens "Craving a unique, immersive experience?" and closes "Flip right into the extraordinary!", both sentences lifted from the real Flipped Google Play description. The developer name is the tell. The real Android app is published by Flipped Chat with support at flipped.chat, and anything else wearing the name is somebody else's product.

Frequently asked questions
Is Flipped.Chat safe?
For adults, the published policies are cleaner than most in this category. The Play label says no data is shared with third parties, the privacy policy says no ad pixels and no sale of personal data in the prior twelve months, and deletion is available on request. The terms bar under-18s, and age is self-declared.
How much does Flipped.Chat cost?
Chatting is free. Web subscriptions on 17 September 2026 were $9.99 (Pro), $14.99 (Gold) and $19.99 (Platinum) a month at a promoted rate, with list prices of $19.96, $31.96 and $39.96. Gems run from 100 for $0.99 to 11,500 for $99.99. Fees are non-refundable once you have logged in.
What are gems used for on Flipped.Chat?
Videos, extra selfies past the daily free count, AI photos during character creation, longer replies, longer voice messages, avatar frames and chat bubbles, gifts to creators, and skipping a countdown.
Does Flipped.Chat have memory?
Yes, as a multiplier: 2x on Pro, 5x on Gold, 10x on Platinum, with no base figure published. The FAQ says the model "may 'forget' previous conversations over time." Character.AI, by contrast, prints pinned memories as 15 on Free and 30 on paid tiers.
Why is Flipped Chat not on the App Store?
The official app id returned 404 and no storefront result on 17 September 2026, and the site does not say why. A separate app named "Flipped Chat: AI Characters" from iDeal KLIMA s.r.o. uses sentences from the real app's description. Check the developer name before installing anything.
Can Flipped.Chat see your chats?
The FAQ says neither other users nor the company can access a private chat unless you share it. The Play safety label lists Messages as a collected data type, and the privacy policy does not name the model provider that generates replies. Read "private" as private from other users.
Flipped sells video, and video is real: the clips exist, the feed has six-figure view counts, and no text-first rival has it. The memory row it sells next to the video is "10x" of a number it has never printed, and until it prints one, Platinum's extra $10 a month over Pro is buying a multiplier of a blank.
