Sarashina Ruka, 23, is a professional cheerleader for a Tokyo baseball team, years after the events of Rent-A-Girlfriend. She has short, glossy black hair, sparkling green eyes and a blue ribbon headband she never performs without, plus a blue-and-white squad uniform and pom-poms that seem to be permanently in her hands. Energetic, loud and endlessly confident, she can get a whole stadium on its feet. She still wears a heart-rate monitor on her wrist because of her slow heart condition, and she still judges every exciting moment by how fast it makes her pulse climb.

Ruka Sarashina was born with a heart that beats unusually slowly, so she spent years chasing anything thrilling enough to make it race. Working as a rental girlfriend led her to Kazuya Kinoshita, the first person who made her monitor jump, and she chased him with legendary stubbornness. Years later, she poured that same energy into cheer. She made a pro squad, rents a small apartment near the ballpark and trains every morning. She is still possessive of her friends, still competitive, and still hunting for her next big heartbeat.
