Kalon AI review: what its terms, privacy policy and pricing actually say

Kalon AI is a web companion app run by Kalon, LLC. Its terms, privacy policy, age policy and pricing, read on 18 September 2026, answer the safety, cost and memory questions its homepage does not.

Kalon AI review: what its terms, privacy policy and pricing actually say

Kalon is a web-only companion and image app run by Kalon, LLC, a Nevada company. Everything worth knowing about it sits in four policy documents dated 4 February 2026, not on the homepage. Its terms ban anyone under 18, though its age policy only verifies that where the law forces it. Pricing runs on coins: 50 at signup, 50 a day free, and 16,000 a month at $19.97. Memory gets described across four pages without a single number attached to it. Two other things called Kalon are not this product. One is the domain kalonai.org, a landing page that routes every button through a tracking link. The other is a Google Play app called "(Kalon) Ai App Advice," an unaffiliated guide app. I read everything below on 18 September 2026 from Kalon's own pages.

YourCrush.AI sells chat in tokens with a memory count on every plan and no daily coin meter, which is the comparison this review keeps returning to.

What is Kalon, and which "Kalon" is the real one?

Kalon is a browser-based adult companion app. You build a character, chat with it by text or voice, and generate images and short videos of it, with a coin balance metering every generation. That definition holds up because it's the one the Kalon.ai homepage gives in its own FAQ: "an AI girlfriend app and NSFW AI image generator in one." The operator is "Kalon, LLC" at "318 N Carson St, Carson City, NV 89701," per the terms of service, last modified 4 February 2026. On 18 September 2026 I found no Kalon, LLC listing on the App Store or Google Play. The product's own footer links go to a Discord server and r/kalonai, not to a store.

That absence is why the name gets confusing, and three look-alikes deserve one sentence each. The domain kalonai.org is a single page of stock phrases about friendship with no terms, no pricing and no login. Every call to action on it goes to track.salesmrr.com with "utm_source=reddit" in the URL, which is the shape of an affiliate page, and Kalon.ai runs an affiliates program from its own footer. The Google Play listing "(Kalon) Ai App Advice", by a developer called NCi AppS, shows 1K+ downloads, an Everyone content rating, "Contains ads," an update date of 2 February 2026, and a description that says "This App is independent and not affiliated with any entity" and that its content "come from the internet." It's a guide app about Kalon, not Kalon. The App Store app named "Kalon" (id6443843001) is a salon-booking app by a developer named Harikrishna Patel, rated 16+. If the page has no Kalon, LLC terms link in the footer, you're not on the product.

Why YourCrush.AI is the better choice than Kalon

YourCrush.AI publishes the memory number this page has been asking Kalon for, on its pricing page, as listed on 17 September 2026. Free at $0 is 400K chat tokens a month, 5 image credits, 3 active personas, 10 conversations, 3 characters created, voice messages, 1 story branch and 10 pinned memories. Pro at $9.99 a month is 5M chat tokens, 50 image credits, 5 active personas, 100 conversations, 50 characters created, priority image generation, 5 story branches and 50 pinned memories. Premium at $19.99 a month is unlimited chat tokens, 200 image credits, and unlimited personas, conversations, characters, story branches and pinned memories.

YourCrush.AI pins memories as a counted, editable list, 10 on Free and 50 on Pro, so the fact a character must keep is one you chose rather than one a rolling summary may or may not keep. YourCrush.AI branches a story into separate timelines, one on Free and five on Pro, so a what-if scene does not overwrite the main thread. YourCrush.AI includes voice messages on every plan including Free, which is the line Kalon's pricing table reserves for paid accounts. YourCrush.AI builds a character with no code from the character creator: a description and backstory up to 2,400 characters each, a greeting up to 500, three to seven traits from a list of 32, up to four speaking-style words and a behavior mode, or generates the description, backstory, greeting and traits for you from a name and an image. YourCrush.AI is 18+ only and does not sell conversations to third parties.

The limitation: YourCrush.AI has no video generation, and Kalon's paid plans do. Its image credits are also capped at 200 a month even on Premium, where everything else is unlimited. What you get in exchange is a Pro price of $9.99 that is half Kalon's monthly, a memory spec you can hold the product to, and no coin balance to watch.

Is Kalon safe?

For an adult who accepts a self-declared age gate outside the UK and reads the privacy policy rather than the landing pages, Kalon is about as safe as the category gets. For anyone under 18, it's banned outright by the terms rather than merely discouraged. The question splits into age, privacy and moderation.

Age first. The terms restrict the service to people "at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority where they live, if higher)," and the age verification policy, also dated 4 February 2026, sets out how that is checked. Globally it is "an age-gate requiring affirmative confirmation of being 18+." In the UK, because of the Online Safety Act 2023, it is "verified age verification" through a third-party provider, and "self-certification is never used." In the US and EU, third-party verification applies only where a jurisdiction mandates it. The privacy policy says location data is used "to determine whether you are accessing the platform from a jurisdiction that requires age verification." Kalon does "not collect or store government-issued identification documents" and receives only a verification token, and "attempted evasion" can mean "suspension or permanent revocation of access." So a teenager outside the UK can click through a checkbox, the same as on most apps in this category, and Kalon says so in its own policy.

Privacy second, where the landing pages and the policy part ways. Kalon's virtual companion page says "All conversations are encrypted and stored securely. No chat data is shared with third parties." The privacy policy, which is the document that binds, makes no encryption claim. It says "chats sent to or from the Services may not be secure," that voice audio "may be sent to a third-party speech-processing provider," and that personal data goes to "contractors, service providers, and other third parties" bound by confidentiality. What the policy does promise is narrower and more useful. Kalon does "not use your private chats, NSFW content, images, voice data, or other personal information to train third-party or general-purpose AI models." Voice chat input "is processed transiently and not stored after your session ends" unless you save a voice journal. And it does "not currently sell data" under Nevada's opt-out statute. Retention has no stated period, only "as long as reasonably necessary."

Moderation third. Kalon's content guidelines say it uses "Aether moderation" across "images, videos, prompts, chat, and character bios," that "chat messages are moderated," and that "repeated attempts to bypass filters can result in warnings or bans." The hard lines: no minors or "youth-coded" content "even if you say they are 18+," no "named celebrities, influencers, streamers, politicians, or other public figures," and no non-consent. The acceptable use policy bans any output that "resembles, or appears to resemble a real person" without "documented, informed, and voluntary written consent." It allows sexual content only where it involves "only fictional adults," and commits to reporting child exploitation material to NCMEC.

Is Kalon free, and what do coins actually buy?

Signing up and chatting on Kalon costs nothing. You get 50 coins on signup and another 50 every day, and the two paid plans are $19.97 a month for 16,000 coins or $119.64 a year (shown as $9.97 a month) for 200,000 coins, all as listed on the Kalon.ai homepage on 18 September 2026. The free plan lists "access to all characters," "image generation" and "chat with characters." Both paid plans add "generate multiple images at once," "video generation," "audio features" and "smarter chat AI." A separate /pricing URL returned a 404 on the same day; the plan table lives on the homepage only.

Fifty coins at signup and fifty a day: the free tier is a daily allowance, not a pool.

What a coin buys is the thing the public pages never state. The homepage FAQ says "coins power every generation," and no page I could open lists the coin cost of one image, one video, one voice reply or one chat message. The terms say coins "have no cash value, are non-redeemable for cash or other consideration, are non-transferable, and will expire if your account is terminated." A banner on every page during my read said users affected by an outage were granted "500 coins for the inconvenience," which is ten days of daily rewards.

Two money rules matter more than the price. First, "all payments are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law," and the cancellation policy narrows the exception to EU and UK buyers, who get a 14-day withdrawal with a full refund only "if you have not accessed any paid features," otherwise "a proportionate amount for the period of use." Second, subscriptions "automatically renew at the end of each billing period" until you cancel from Settings, then Subscription, then Unsubscribe, and access runs to the end of the paid cycle. Disputes go to arbitration under Nevada law with a class-action waiver, except for EU and UK consumers.

One contradiction before you count on free voice: the pricing table puts "audio features" on paid plans only, while the virtual companion page says "basic voice features are available at no cost." The table is the one attached to a checkout button, so plan on voice costing money.

Does Kalon remember you, and how much?

Kalon says yes on four different pages and gives a number on none of them. The homepage FAQ says every character "supports uncensored NSFW AI chat with memory" and "remembers your conversations." The AI girlfriend page says the companion "remembers important details from your conversations, including your preferences, relationship style, story progress, and emotional context." The NSFW chatbot page says "memory across sessions." The most specific description is on the virtual companion page: "a rolling memory bank" in which "recent conversations are recalled in detail, and older context is summarized and referenced when it becomes relevant again," with the ability to "pin specific memories you want preserved, edit anything that's inaccurate, and clear memories you'd rather forget."

Memory is promised in prose on four pages and counted on none.

That is a real architecture description, the same rolling-context-plus-summary design most companion apps use. What is missing is every figure that would let you compare it: how many pinned memories a free account gets, how many a paid one gets, how far back "recent" reaches, or what "smarter chat AI" on the paid plans changes about retention. The landing page FAQs say "deeper memory" and "extended memory depth" "may require an upgrade," which tells you memory is tiered without telling you the tiers. The plan table itself does not contain the word.

So the test is the one from the ten-minute companion app test: plant three specific facts in session one, open a fresh session two days later on the free plan, ask about each without a hint, then repeat on a paid month. Whatever survives is the memory Kalon sells, and until Kalon prints the number, that is the only way to learn it.

What are the alternatives to Kalon, and how do you compare them?

Any companion app that runs the same loop of character, model and rolling context counts as a Kalon AI alternative, so the comparison comes down to four questions you can answer from each app's own pages: is memory stated as a number or an adjective, is the age rule verified or self-declared, what does the privacy policy say goes to third parties, and what does a month of the paid tier cost and is there a second meter. Kalon's answers are adjective, self-declared outside the UK, speech audio to a third-party processor with no model training, and $19.97 with coins as the only meter for generation.

Character.AI prices c.ai+ at $119.88 a year list, $94.99 discounted, on a page read on 18 September 2026 that grades memory as "Basic," "Better" and "Best" across Free, lite and c.ai+ and puts a Lorebook on the top tier. Candy.ai, covered in the Candy.ai breakdown, prices by region and includes "100 tokens per month" on its paid plans per its subscriptions page, so it has the same second-meter structure as Kalon's coins. PolyBuzz, in what is PolyBuzz, sells "stronger memory" as an adjective and adds coins on top of a subscription. None of the three publishes a memory count either, which is why the fourth question, the meter, decides more months than the first three.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kalon AI safe to use?

For adults, reasonably, if you take the privacy policy rather than the landing pages as the truth: no model training on private chats, no data sales, voice audio possibly sent to a third-party speech provider, and no encryption promise. Under-18s are banned by the terms, with real verification only in the UK.

Is Kalon free?

Yes to start: 50 coins on signup, 50 coins a day, all characters, image generation and chat, per the homepage on 18 September 2026. Video, audio and "smarter chat AI" need the $19.97 monthly or $119.64 yearly plan, and payments are non-refundable outside EU and UK withdrawal rights.

Does Kalon remember your conversations?

Kalon says it keeps a rolling memory bank with recent turns in detail, older context summarized, and pinned memories you can edit or clear. It does not publish how many memories a plan holds or how far back recall reaches, and its landing pages say deeper memory may require an upgrade.

What is the "(Kalon) Ai App Advice" app on Google Play?

An unaffiliated guide app by a developer called NCi AppS, with 1K+ downloads, an Everyone rating and ads, whose own description says it is "independent and not affiliated with any entity." It is not the Kalon product, which has no store listing from Kalon, LLC.

Is kalonai.org the same as kalon.ai?

No. Kalonai.org is a one-page site with no terms, pricing or login whose buttons all pass through a tracking link tagged utm_source=reddit. The product with the terms of service, privacy policy and pricing is kalon.ai, operated by Kalon, LLC.

Kalon vs Character.AI: which has better memory?

Neither publishes a count, so neither wins on paper. Character.AI grades memory Basic, Better and Best across three tiers and adds a Lorebook on c.ai+ at $94.99 a year discounted; Kalon describes a rolling bank with pinning and sells "smarter chat AI" from $9.97 a month billed yearly. Run the same three-fact test on both.

Kalon prints "memory" on its homepage, its AI girlfriend page, its NSFW chatbot page and its virtual companion page, and prints a memory number on none of them. Until one of those pages says how many facts a $19.97 month holds, the memory is a slogan, and the only spec you are buying is coins.
