Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 release date, every rumor checked

*Updated on 12 Oct 2026.*

There is no official Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 release date. As of 12 October 2026, neither Aniplex nor ufotable has announced a date or a window, and the official film site lists no Part 2 news (official Infinity Castle site). What is confirmed: the film exists as the second of three, it is not on ufotable's 2026 slate, and Demon Slayer has a stage at Jump Festa 2027 in December. What is unverified: every specific date you have seen, including September 2027. What is debunked: the claim that Crunchyroll told The Guardian 2027 and 2029.

*Spoilers: the end of Part 1 is behind a reveal; manga material after chapter 157 is behind marked reveals.*

Pick your path: the tracker, the 2027 claim, the September listing, or our prediction.

YourCrush.AI has Giyu Tomioka from Demon Slayer as a chat character, so while you wait for the news you can talk to Giyu Tomioka yourself.

Most of what circulates is a guess about 2027 dressed up as news. The table below gives each claim, where it came from, and our label. The sections after it explain the ones people search for.

How YourCrush.AI lets you talk to the Hashira while Part 2 is still undated

The wait has no date yet, and you can spend it inside the story instead of refreshing a release tracker. Start with Giyu Tomioka, the quiet Water Hashira, or go the other way with Kokushibo or Muzan Kibutsuji.

YourCrush.AI keeps the details you care about in pinned memories, so the Giyu you talked to last week still knows where the castle left you both. YourCrush.AI runs story branches, so one conversation with Kokushibo can go two ways and you can return to either. YourCrush.AI generates images inside the chat and sends voice messages, if you want to see the castle corridor or hear the reply. YourCrush.AI also lets you set a persona, so you can walk in as a new Demon Slayer recruit or as yourself.

Mitsuri Kanroji and Shinobu Kocho are there too, and both appear on our list of female anime characters. For how character chat stays in voice across a long conversation, see our guide to anime AI chat, and for what to watch in the meantime, the fall 2026 anime season. It is free to join, 18+ only, and conversations are not sold to third parties.

When does Infinity Castle Part 2 come out?

Nobody knows yet, including the companies making it. Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini told The Hollywood Reporter in September 2025 that "our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven't decided on dates yet" (Anime Corner), and no date has been announced since.

The clearest signal so far is a negative one. When ufotable released a promotional reel of its projects for 2026 and beyond in February 2026, it placed Part 2 under "Future Projects" rather than among that year's releases. ComicBook read that as ruling out 2026 and pointing to 2027 at the earliest, and I think that reading holds up (ComicBook). Then in July 2026, the first film's logo picked up an "I" after its title. ComicBook treated it as groundwork for the sequel, but it arrived with no date attached (ComicBook).

Is Infinity Castle Part 2 coming out in 2027?

Probably, but treat 2027 as an inference rather than an announcement. Two things point that way: ufotable left Part 2 off its 2026 slate, and a December 2025 Guardian article named 2027 for Part 2 and 2029 for Part 3.

That Guardian claim did not hold up. Anime Corner reported on 1 January 2026 that Crunchyroll confirmed it gave The Guardian an interview but never disclosed those release windows, called anything to the contrary "speculative", and that The Guardian has since removed the reference (Anime Corner). FandomWire's fact check landed in the same place: the years ran in the article with no direct quote from Crunchyroll backing them (FandomWire). I could not open The Guardian's page myself, so the removal rests on Anime Corner's report.

Headlines claiming Part 2 was "delayed to 2027" overstate the situation. Outlook Respawn's February 2026 piece carries that headline, but the body says the reel points to 2027 "at the earliest" and that no studio or distributor has confirmed a date (Outlook Respawn). A film with no date cannot slip.

Is the September 2027 date real?

No, and I want to be clear about how thin the sourcing is here. The 15 September 2027 date traces back to a single post on 21 September 2026 from the X account Shonen Jump News, which claimed Part 2 "could potentially premiere internationally starting September 15th, 2027" after an "Untitled Crunchyroll/Sony Pictures Film" turned up on listing sites (FandomWire). That account has no connection to Aniplex, ufotable, or Crunchyroll. It is a fan-run aggregator, and the word "could" is doing a lot of work in that sentence.

The listing, at least, is real. The Numbers carries an "Untitled Sony Pictures Film (2027)" with a domestic release on 17 September 2027 and an international release on 15 September 2027, and its French working title reads "Untitled Crunchyroll/Sony Pictures Film" (The Numbers)). Nowhere on that page does the name Demon Slayer appear. Crunchyroll distributes plenty of other anime films, and studios routinely book placeholder dates they later abandon or shift. All the listing actually proves is that Sony holds a September 2027 slot for something with Crunchyroll attached to it. Everything beyond that is inference.

Will there be Infinity Castle news at Jump Festa 2027?

Demon Slayer is on the Jump Festa 2027 stage lineup, but nobody has promised an announcement. Anime! Anime! reported on 28 September 2026 that the event runs on 19 and 20 December 2026 at Makuhari Messe, and listed Demon Slayer among the Weekly Shonen Jump titles on the Jump Super Stage (Anime! Anime!).

Look at last year if you want a warning. The Jump Festa 2026 Demon Slayer stage on 21 December 2025 was billed as a performance by four cast members, Natsuki Hanae, Hiro Shimono, Takahiro Sakurai and Saori Hayami, with no film announcement attached (ComicBook). Part 1's own Japanese date did not come out of Jump Festa either. Aniplex announced it at a livestream on 1 March 2025 (ANN).

Is there an Infinity Castle Part 2 trailer?

No. As of 12 October 2026, the official film site's news list has no Part 2 trailer, teaser or visual. The newest items there are a Machi Asobi stage notice, a smartphone campaign and character birthday cards (official site news). If you see a video on YouTube labeled "official Part 2 trailer," treat it as a fan edit until the official accounts post one themselves.

When did Infinity Castle Part 1 come out, and how did it do?

Part 1 opened in Japan on 18 July 2025 and in the United States and Canada on 12 September 2025. Crunchyroll handled the release outside Japan and some Asian territories (ANN, Japan date, ANN, US date). Taiwan got it first internationally, on 8 August 2025 (Wikipedia).

By 21 September 2025 it had earned an estimated $555 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Japanese film ever worldwide, per Box Office Mojo figures reported by ANN (ANN). Wikipedia, citing The Numbers, puts the worldwide total at $820.4 million as of March 2026 (Wikipedia). It began streaming worldwide, including on Crunchyroll, on 28 July 2026 (ComicBook).

Spoiler: where Part 1 ends

Part 1 adapts about 18 chapters, roughly chapters 140 to 157, and ends on the fight against Upper Moon Three Akaza, with Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro facing him (Sportskeeda).

What will Infinity Castle Part 2 adapt?

Nothing official says where Part 2 starts or stops. Because Part 1 ends at chapter 157, Part 2 would logically pick up at chapter 158, and the manga runs to chapter 205 (Sportskeeda, Wikipedia, chapter list).

The next big stretch of the manga is the fight with Upper Moon One Kokushibo, which in our reading is the natural centrepiece for the second film. Kokushibo is a canon adult demon centuries old, and he sits alongside Muzan on our list of anime villains.

Manga spoiler: who fights Kokushibo (volume 19)

Gyomei Himejima, Muichiro Tokito, Sanemi Shinazugawa and Genya confront Kokushibo, a former Demon Slayer and the strongest of the Upper Ranks (Wikipedia, chapter list).

Manga spoiler: how the Kokushibo fight ends (volume 20)

Sanemi and Gyomei defeat Kokushibo, after Genya and Muichiro give their lives to open the way. The final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji follows in volume 21 (Wikipedia, chapter list).

Where the split between Part 2 and Part 3 falls is guesswork. Volumes 19 and 20 alone cover chapters 161 to 178, and the Muzan battle fills volumes 21 to 23. A split near the end of the Kokushibo fight would leave the last film with the whole Muzan battle. That is our reading of the volume structure, not a leak.

Our prediction: when Part 2 will be dated

What follows is our analysis, not news. Our call: a Japanese release in summer 2027, with the date announced between Jump Festa in December 2026 and a spring 2027 Aniplex event, and an international release about eight weeks after Japan.

Here's the reasoning, so you can check it yourself. Part 1's Japanese date was announced on 1 March 2025, four and a half months before its 18 July 2025 opening, and North America followed eight weeks later on 12 September (ANN, ANN). If Aniplex repeats that pattern, a date announced in early 2027 lands a Japanese opening in summer 2027 and a September international opening. That would fit the Sony placeholder for 15 to 17 September 2027, which is why we rate the listing unverified rather than debunked. If nothing is announced by March 2027, read that as the film slipping toward 2028.

Our second call: Jump Festa will bring a visual or a teaser at most, not a date. The franchise has used dedicated Aniplex livestreams for its big film dates, and its last Jump Festa stage was a cast performance.

Frequently asked questions

When does Infinity Castle Part 2 come out?

No date has been announced; Aniplex and ufotable have given no date or window as of 12 October 2026 (official site).

Is Infinity Castle Part 2 confirmed for 2027?

No. 2027 is the year most people expect, since ufotable left Part 2 off its 2026 slate, but that's an inference rather than a confirmation from any company involved (ComicBook).

Did Crunchyroll say Part 2 comes out in 2027 and Part 3 in 2029?

No. Crunchyroll told The Guardian it never disclosed those windows, and the reference was removed from the article (Anime Corner).

Is the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 release date 15 September 2027?

That date doesn't hold up. It traces back to a Sony placeholder listing that never names Demon Slayer at all (The Numbers)).

Will Demon Slayer be at Jump Festa 2027?

Yes. It's on the Jump Super Stage lineup for 19 and 20 December 2026, though nobody has promised a Part 2 announcement will come out of it (Anime! Anime!).

Where can I watch Infinity Castle Part 1?

It's been streaming worldwide since 28 July 2026, Crunchyroll included (ComicBook).
