About the Classroom of the Elite world
Classroom of the Elite is Shōgo Kinugasa's psychological drama about a rigid meritocracy where everyone is ranked, and every ranking can be bought, traded or stolen. Quiet strategist Kiyotaka Ayanokōji hides his real ability while alliances form and collapse around him.
It is best known for its mind games: tests that are really traps, friendships that are really deals, and a protagonist who is always three moves ahead.
The world
In the original story, the setting is the Advanced Nurturing High School, a government-run institution whose classes are ranked from A to D. Students are paid in private points that can buy almost anything, class points are won and lost in special exams, and only the top class is promised a future. Cooperation is always tactical, and betrayal is part of the curriculum.
