About the Chainsaw Man world
Chainsaw Man is Tatsuki Fujimoto's violent, darkly funny action series set in a Japan where Devils are born from human fears. Denji, a broke devil hunter fused with his chainsaw devil dog Pochita, is recruited into Public Safety by the enigmatic Makima.
It is known for sudden tonal swings, from slapstick to horror to heartbreak, and for MAPPA's high-energy anime adaptation.
The world
Every fear takes shape as a Devil, and the more people fear something, the stronger its Devil becomes. Devil hunters work for private companies or for Public Safety, often by making contracts with Devils, which always cost something. Fiends are Devils possessing human corpses, and Hybrids like Denji can transform. Behind all of it is a war between powerful Devils over the Chainsaw Man himself.

- Aki Hayakawa – a serious devil hunter out for revenge against the Gun Devil.
